Iran Blasts Ceasefire Collapse Following New U.S. Strikes, Raises Alarm
Iran has accused the United States of escalating tensions after a new wave of airstrikes, saying the attacks have effectively collapsed the fragile ceasefire arrangement between both countries.
In a statement released by its Foreign Ministry, Tehran said the latest strikes amount to a serious violation of the United Nations Charter and international law.
It argued that the April ceasefire can no longer hold under current conditions, insisting it has lost practical relevance.
The ministry also warned regional states against allowing their territory or military infrastructure to be used in support of U.S. operations, saying such cooperation could draw them into the conflict.
It called on the United Nations and the Security Council to take a clear position on the situation and urged the UN Secretary-General to provide a transparent assessment of developments.
Iran’s armed forces separately dismissed reports claiming its air defence systems had been heavily damaged, describing such accounts as propaganda.
Military officials insisted the country’s defensive capabilities remain intact and fully operational despite the recent strikes.
A military spokesperson added that Iran has inflicted losses on opposing forces and continues to maintain strategic options, including influence over key regional maritime routes.
He, however, said any response would depend on future developments and the scale of further escalation.
