Final Journey Home as Alex Ekubo Is Received by Mourners in Abia
Emotions ran high in Arochukwu, Abia State, on Thursday as family members, friends, fans and colleagues gathered to receive the remains of Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo ahead of his final burial rites.

The late actor’s body was brought into the community in a solemn motorcade that first made a stop at the palace of the traditional ruler of Arochukwu before proceeding to the Ekubo family residence.
Residents lined sections of the village road as mourners accompanied the procession, paying tribute to one of the community’s most celebrated sons.

Many wore customised shirts bearing his image, while others carried framed photographs in a final show of love and respect.
Several figures from the Nigerian entertainment industry were present to honour the late actor.
Among them were actor and close associate IK Ogbonna, actress Ini Edo, filmmaker Omoni Oboli and fashion entrepreneur Yomi Casual.
Ekubo died last month at the age of 40 following a prolonged health challenge reportedly linked to kidney cancer.
His passing sparked an outpouring of tributes from colleagues, fans and admirers across the country.

He is survived by his wife, parents and siblings.
