Terrorists Invade Borno School, Kill Teacher, Abduct Students During NECO Examination
Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have attacked a secondary school in Lassa, Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State, killing a teacher and abducting an unspecified number of students and teachers.

The attack occurred on Monday while candidates were sitting the ongoing National Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination at Government Day Secondary School.
The insurgents reportedly stormed the school as the examination was in progress, forcing many students to flee as gunshots rang out across the community.
At least one teacher was killed in the attack, while another sustained gunshot injuries. The number of students taken away by the attackers has yet to be confirmed.
Witnesses said the assailants, who reportedly arrived on motorcycles and were dressed in military camouflage, invaded the town on a busy market day, creating panic among residents.
Some residents alleged that military personnel stationed in the community had left on a patrol to nearby Uba, about 16 kilometres away, shortly before the terrorists struck. The claim has not been independently verified.
A resident said the attackers moved through the community firing indiscriminately before abducting students sitting the examination and some members of staff.
The spokesperson for the Borno State Police Command, Nahum Daso, confirmed the incident, saying several students remain missing following the attack.

Security agencies are continuing search and rescue operations as efforts intensify to locate the abducted victims and restore calm to the community.
