Algeria Honoured with WAFCON 2026 Fair Play Award After Historic Bronze Campaign
The Algerian Women’s National Team has officially received the prestigious CAF Fair Play Award for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
This special team accolade recognizes the Fennecs as the most disciplined, respectful, and sportsmanlike squad across the entire tournament field.
The honour beautifully highlights Algeria’s professional conduct on the pitch while navigating their highly intense continental matches.
The award serves as a fantastic secondary victory for Algeria following their legendary football performance on home-away soil.
The Fennecs shocked the continent by defeating host nation Morocco in a dramatic penalty shootout to secure a historic third-place bronze medal finish.
Balancing such high-stakes, competitive grit with pristine disciplinary records earned them immense praise from the CAF Technical Study Group.
With this final trophy accounted for, the complete post-tournament prize distribution and fair play honours for the competition are officially wrapped up.
The Algerian delegation flies home celebrating both a maiden bronze podium finish and the ultimate badge of tournament sportsmanship.
