Iran Strikes U.S. Military Bases as Gulf Tensions Explode
Iran has launched coordinated attacks on U.S. military installations in the Gulf, marking a sharp escalation in hostilities following recent American airstrikes on Iranian territory.

According to Iranian military officials, the targets included U.S. Patriot missile systems in Kuwait, an early-warning facility in Qatar, and a U.S. Army fuel depot in Bahrain.
The strikes came days after Washington carried out attacks on several locations in Iran’s southern and eastern provinces.
Kuwaiti authorities said their air defence systems intercepted multiple ballistic and cruise missiles as well as several drones.
One person was reportedly injured by falling debris, while Jordan also confirmed intercepting missiles that entered its airspace.
The renewed exchange of attacks has further weakened a fragile ceasefire that had been in place for weeks. U.S. President Donald Trump has declared the truce effectively over, raising fears of a broader regional conflict.
The latest developments coincided with the burial of Iran’s slain Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, whose funeral drew thousands of mourners in Mashhad.
Khamenei was killed in a U.S. airstrike earlier this year, an event that intensified the conflict between Tehran, Washington and its allies.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards also warned that any further U.S. military intervention in the Gulf would trigger what it described as a “crushing response.”
The force accused Washington of disrupting maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for global oil exports.

Despite the latest violence, global oil prices eased slightly after an initial surge, as investors weighed the possibility that the renewed fighting could be short-lived rather than the start of a prolonged escalation.
