Nepal Flood Death Toll Rises to 626 as Heavy Rain Threatens Rescue Efforts
The death toll from the devastating Bhotekoshi floods in Nepal has risen to 626, while 2,426 people remain unaccounted for, according to authorities. More than 4,400 people have reportedly been rescued, with over 15,000 security personnel involved in rescue and relief operations.
Heavy rain is now threatening to complicate the search for survivors and missing people across the affected areas. Authorities are closely monitoring rainfall and river levels as rescue teams continue working in flood-hit districts.
The disaster struck Rasuwa and surrounding areas earlier this week, sending a massive surge of water and debris downstream and causing widespread destruction. With thousands still missing, authorities are racing against time to locate survivors and provide assistance to affected communities.
