Two Suffer Severe Burns as Diesel Tanker Falls Off Otedola Bridge in Lagos
Two people have sustained severe burns after a diesel-laden tanker fell off Otedola Bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and caught fire beneath the bridge. Emergency responders rescued the victims from the inferno and evacuated them to the Lagos State Accident and Emergency Centre at Toll-Gate for immediate medical attention.

The victims were reportedly trapped in the fire after the tanker exploded. Some witnesses expressed concern about their chances of survival because of the severity of their injuries, although their condition was not officially confirmed in the report.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday, saying its emergency response team worked with other agencies to rescue the victims. LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, commended the responders for their swift intervention, while the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency’s Rescue Unit transported the injured victims to the medical facility.
