Horiguchi Gets New UFC Fight in Qatar
Former UFC title challenger Kyoji Horiguchi is set to return to action against rising Kazakh contender Asu Almabayev at UFC Qatar on November 21, 2026. The flyweight bout adds another major fight to the developing card in Doha.
Horiguchi enters the contest after losing to Manel Kape, having previously defeated Tagir Ulanbekov and Amir Albazi to re-establish himself among the division’s leading contenders. The Japanese veteran is also a former RIZIN champion.
Almabayev, meanwhile, has won three straight fights since his controversial loss to Kape and most recently submitted Charles Johnson with a rare Suloev Stretch at UFC Baku. With seven wins in his last eight fights, the Kazakh fighter will look to strengthen his case for a future UFC title opportunity.
