British Mother Rescued After Six-Day Kidnapping in Malawi
A 47-year-old British mother, Nusrat Osman, has been rescued in Malawi six days after she was abducted by four armed men in Blantyre.
Police said Osman was rescued during an intelligence-led operation that involved a gunfight with the kidnappers. The four suspects were shot and later died in hospital, while Deputy Inspector General Noel Kayira was also wounded and remains in stable condition.

Police said the attackers were armed with an AK-47 rifle and a pistol, while the motive for the kidnapping remains unclear. Osman, who previously lived in Leicester for nearly a decade before moving to Malawi, is now safe as investigations continue.
