VIDEO: Angela Okorie Reveals Why She Destroyed Outfit Worn to Alex Ekubo’s Funeral
Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has opened up about the reason she disposed of the outfit she wore to the funeral ceremony of late actor Alex Ekubo.
The actress shared a video on her Instagram page showing the clothing being burned, explaining that the decision was based on a traditional belief she learned from her godmother.
According to Angela, she was advised that garments worn to burial ceremonies should not be kept afterward, as it is considered inappropriate in some cultural and spiritual traditions.

Sharing the experience with her followers, she said she felt compelled to pass on the information so that family members and friends could be aware of the practice.
“This was the outfit I wore to Alex’s burial. My godmother told me it is not good to keep clothes worn to a burial; they should be burned. I thought I should share this with everyone,” she said.
The actress also offered prayers for long life, asking God to continue protecting and preserving loved ones from untimely death.

Her revelation has since sparked reactions online, with social media users sharing differing opinions on the burial custom and whether such practices should still be observed today.
