UFC Veteran Urged to Retire After Defeat at Landmark White House Event

UFC Freedom 250 on the White House South Lawn saw former title challenger Michael Chandler suffer a comprehensive defeat to rising contender Mauricio Ruffy, marking his sixth loss in eight fights.

Following this latest stoppage loss, UFC Hall of Famer Chael Sonnen publicly urged the 40-year-old veteran to retire and protect his legacy.

While Chandler previously held out hope for a fight with Conor McGregor, his recent performance slide makes a return to championship contention unlikely.

The historic seven-fight card featured all-stoppage results, shaking up multiple divisions. In the main event, Justin Gaethje shocked the MMA world by handing Ilia Topuria his first career defeat to claim the undisputed lightweight championship.

Additionally, Ciryl Gane defeated Alex Pereira in the interim heavyweight title clash, while Derrick Lewis faced retirement calls following a TKO loss to Josh Hokit.
