Super Falcons Players Report Missing Cash From Hotel Rooms in Morocco
Several members of Nigeria’s Super Falcons have reportedly discovered that cash was missing from their hotel rooms in Casablanca, Morocco, as the team prepares for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The players are said to have noticed that money had disappeared from their wallets while they were away from their rooms.
The incident reportedly occurred at the Marriott Hotel in Casablanca, where the Nigerian team is currently staying ahead of the continental tournament.
Among the players allegedly affected are Esther Okoronkwo, who reportedly lost $700, while Rasheedat Ajibade was said to have discovered that $200 was missing.
Osinachi Ohale, Joy Omewa and Halimatu Ayinde reportedly lost $100, $120 and $100 respectively.
The total amount allegedly missing from the players is said to be $1,220.
However, the circumstances surrounding the reported theft remain unclear, and it is not known whether the hotel management or any relevant authorities have commenced an investigation.
The Nigeria Football Federation has also yet to officially comment on the matter or confirm whether a formal inquiry has been launched.
The reported incident comes as the Super Falcons intensify preparations for their title defence at the 2026 WAFCON.
The team has assembled in Casablanca, with preparations continuing ahead of the tournament.
Nigeria is expected to begin its campaign against Malawi in Rabat. The defending champions are drawn in Group C alongside Malawi, Zambia and Egypt as they seek to retain their continental title.
