FBI Reports Foiled Security Threat Linked to UFC Event at the White House
Federal authorities say they disrupted an alleged security threat targeting the UFC America 250 event held at the White House, with multiple arrests made following a coordinated multi-state operation.

FBI Director Kash Patel said investigators first became aware of the potential threat on June 10.
According to his statement on X, law enforcement agencies moved quickly alongside the Department of Justice to identify and detain individuals believed to be involved in planning attacks connected to the event in Washington, D.C.
Patel described the operation as a rapid response effort that prevented what he said were planned attacks from being carried out, noting that suspects were located outside the National Capital Region.
Secret Service Director Sean Curran confirmed that his agency led the investigation from the outset, describing the matter as an active and ongoing case.
He said details were initially withheld to avoid compromising security preparations around the event.

Curran also described the alleged threat as complex, involving a high level of planning and multiple individuals.
He said investigators assessed the situation carefully while maintaining confidence in the overall security of the event.
According to officials, the alleged plan involved the possible use of drones and coordinated attacks intended to target areas around the White House grounds, including the South Lawn and surrounding spaces where attendees were expected to gather.
Authorities said the intent was to create disruption during the event, though they maintained that security measures remained intact throughout.
Reports from federal court filings indicated that UFC organisers had prepared for large crowds across Washington during the event period, with attendance figures reaching tens of thousands across various fan zones and viewing areas.
Security around the venue included standard screening procedures such as metal detectors and bag checks, with additional layers of credential verification for media and staff.
The UFC has not publicly commented on the alleged plot, and its leadership did not reference any security concerns during the lead-up to the event.

Officials said multiple suspects are in custody and that charges are expected to be formally announced as the investigation continues.
They added that further details will be released once court filings are unsealed.
