British-Nigerian Musician Killed in London Stabbing as Police Detain Suspects
British police have launched a murder investigation following the fatal stabbing of British-Nigerian musician Mark Orabiyi, who was found critically injured at a residential property in London.
The 35-year-old was discovered with multiple stab wounds in the garden of a home on Rayleigh Road after emergency services responded to distress calls on Friday.
Paramedics and officers arrived at the scene, but he was pronounced dead shortly after despite attempts to save his life.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that three people were initially arrested in connection with the incident as investigations got underway.
One suspect, a 27-year-old man, has since been released on bail, while a 24-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were released with no further action taken.
Authorities also confirmed that a second man, aged 20, sustained multiple stab injuries during the same incident and was taken to hospital, where his condition was described as non-life-threatening.
Police said formal identification has been completed and the victim has been named as Orabiyi. His family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers.
In a statement, his relatives described him as a loving and talented individual whose kindness and presence impacted many people around him, saying his memory would continue to live on through those who knew him.
Detectives leading the investigation have appealed for witnesses and anyone with CCTV or video footage from the area to come forward as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack.
The case remains under active investigation as officers continue to piece together events that led to the fatal stabbing in the London residential neighbourhood.
