Falconets Crush England 3-0 to Reach U20 Women’s World Cup Quarter-Finals

Nigeria’s Falconets stormed into the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup after a commanding 3-0 victory over England in their Round of 16 clash in Poland on Thursday.

Tosin Rafiu opened the scoring in the eighth minute, while goalkeeper Christiana Uzoma produced a crucial penalty save to preserve Nigeria’s advantage before half-time.

Seimeyeha Janet Akekoromowei doubled the lead shortly after the restart, before Mary Mamudu added the third in the 73rd minute to seal a comfortable win for the Falconets.

Nigeria will face either Poland or Colombia in the quarter-finals, scheduled for Sunday, September 20, in Łódź.
