Orbits News: Flamingos Make History with 3-1 Win Over Brazil to Reach First U-17 Women’s World Cup Final
Nigeria’s Flamingos have made history by becoming the first African team to reach the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup final after defeating Brazil 3-1 in Wednesday’s semi-final in Morocco.

Queen Joseph opened the scoring in the 56th minute before Awawu Bashiru struck twice in the 71st and 80th minutes to put Nigeria firmly in control. Brazil’s Greise Kelly scored a late consolation goal.

The victory takes Nigeria into their first-ever final of the competition, giving the team an opportunity to become the first African nation to win the U-17 Women’s World Cup. The Flamingos produced a strong second-half display at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat to overcome their Brazilian opponents.

Nigeria will face Japan in Saturday’s final, scheduled for November 7 at 7:30 p.m. Nigerian time. Japan secured their place after defeating defending champions DPR Korea 4-1 on penalties following a 1-1 draw. The Flamingos will now chase a historic first world title under head coach Akeem Busari.
