Zambia, Nigeria, and Malawi March into WAFCON Quarter-Finals After Group C Chaos

Zambia, Nigeria, and Malawi have all officially qualified for the quarter-finals following a highly dramatic and high-scoring conclusion to their Group C campaigns.

The final matchday saw the Super Falcons unleash a clinical offensive masterclass to dismantle Egypt 6-2, while the Copper Queens ground out a vital 2-1 victory over the Scorchers.

The thrilling round of matches left Zambia, Nigeria, and Malawi locked in a fascinating three-way tie at the top of the standings with six points apiece.

Under tournament tiebreaker rules, Zambia safely claimed the coveted group crown, leaving the reigning champions in second place and a resilient Malawi advancing as one of the best third-placed teams.

In stark contrast, a heartbroken Egypt squad bows out of the continental showpiece at the bottom of the pile without a single point.

While the Pharaohs pack their bags, the qualified trio must now shift their focus to this weekend’s high-stakes blockbuster knockout fixtures in Morocco.
