VIDEO: 30 Residents Killed in Fresh Attack on Kaduna Village
At least 30 residents, including eight children, have been killed in an attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The attack reportedly occurred around 11 p.m. on Sunday when the assailants invaded the community, opened fire on residents and set several houses and shops ablaze.
The Secretary to the Village Head of Naridon, Dogon Rana, confirmed the incident in a telephone interview on Monday.
Rana said the attackers struck while some residents were still awake and others had already gone to bed.
He said 30 people had so far been confirmed dead, while four others sustained critical injuries and were receiving treatment.
“We have confirmed the killing of 30 people, but we are afraid the death toll may rise because some of the injured are in critical condition,” he said.
The attack has left several families devastated, with homes and businesses destroyed and many residents displaced.
Rana said one family lost five children in the attack, with only one child surviving and currently in critical condition.
He also disclosed that his own house was among the properties burnt during the assault.
“My personal house was burnt down by the attackers. Several shops were also destroyed, including the house belonging to the late Mr Garba. Many families have been left homeless,” he said.
The village official attributed the high number of casualties partly to the poor condition of the road leading to the community.
According to him, the absence of a motorable access road delayed the arrival of help and made it difficult for residents to escape during the attack.
“There is no accessible road to our community. If our road had been motorable, the casualty figure would not have been this high because help would have reached us on time and many people could have escaped,” he said.
He appealed to the Federal Government, the Kaduna State Government and security agencies to urgently strengthen security in the area and provide the community with a functional access road.
“We are pleading with the government not to abandon us. We need security personnel to protect our people, and we need a good road. These attacks have become too frequent, and our people can no longer sleep with their eyes closed,” he added.
A resident who spoke anonymously for security reasons alleged that 22 members of the Rana family were killed during the attack, while several businesses in the community were destroyed.
The resident further claimed that the attack lasted for about three hours without intervention from security personnel, despite the reported presence of military formations in Kamaru and Ungwan Magaji, located approximately two kilometres from Naridon.
The source said only one military officer and four Mobile Police personnel had been deployed to the community as of Monday.
Efforts to obtain the reaction of the Kaduna State Police Command were unsuccessful. Calls to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, were reportedly unanswered, while a text message sent to his telephone line had not received a response as of the time of filing the report.

The latest attack has heightened fears among residents of Kauru Local Government Area, where several communities have suffered repeated attacks in recent years, leading to loss of lives, destruction of property and displacement.
Further details are expected.
