Gable Steveson Open to Josh Hokit Fight, Suggests Move to Light Heavyweight
Olympic wrestling champion Gable Steveson says he is not worried about a potential future fight with fellow UFC heavyweight Josh Hokit. Although both fighters train with some of the same coaches, including renowned coach Greg Jackson, Steveson believes that would not create any issues if they eventually meet inside the Octagon.

Steveson praised Hokit for his recent success in the UFC and said his unique personality has helped him attract attention. However, he believes Hokit’s long-term future would be better at light heavyweight rather than heavyweight. According to Steveson, a move down to the 205-pound division would be a smart decision for his fellow American.

For now, Steveson says his full attention is on his UFC debut against Elisha Ellison at UFC 329. The highly rated prospect, who enters the fight with a 3-0 MMA record, says he is focused on delivering a strong performance before thinking about future opponents.
He also admitted he is keeping an eye on top heavyweights such as Tom Aspinall and Ciryl Gane but insists proving himself in his first UFC appearance remains his top priority.
