Thailand School Shooting Leaves Several Dead
Several people have been killed and others wounded after a student opened fire at a secondary school in Thailand, sending terrified students and teachers scrambling for safety in one of the country’s deadliest school attacks in recent years.

The shooting occurred on Friday at Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Bang Kruai district, Nonthaburi province, just north of Bangkok.
Thai police later confirmed that seven people, including the suspected gunman, lost their lives in the attack, while at least 15 others sustained injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.
Nonthaburi provincial police commander, Lt. Col. Dechrapee Kongdee, said the suspected shooter, who was a student of the school, died after the incident. Authorities have not yet disclosed a possible motive for the attack.
Thailand’s Permanent Secretary for the Interior Ministry, Arsit Sampantharat, said the student remained inside the school after the shooting before security forces secured the premises.
Witnesses described moments of fear and confusion as gunfire echoed across the campus. One student told local reporters that classmates hurried into a classroom and stayed hidden after hearing shots from another building.
They remained there until police officers arrived and safely escorted them out.
Emergency responders and police quickly flooded the school as ambulances transported the injured to nearby hospitals.
Images from the scene showed anxious parents, students and staff gathered outside the campus while rescue workers attended to victims.
Debsirin Nonthaburi School is one of Thailand’s best-known secondary schools. District authorities say it enrolled about 3,100 students and employed 147 teachers during the 2025 academic year.
The institution is part of the Debsirin network of schools founded under the patronage of Thailand’s royal family and has produced several prominent graduates, including former prime ministers, academics and writers.

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack as authorities work to determine what led to the shooting.
