Peter Obi: “I Might Not Even Be Alive” Before 2027 Election
Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has said he may not live to witness the 2027 general election, alleging that the Federal Government has continued to frustrate his activities and target members of the opposition.

Obi made the remarks during an interview on With Chude, saying the challenges he faces have made him uncertain about what the future holds.
When asked whether there was a possibility he might not contest the 2027 presidential election, Obi replied, “Not even a candidate. I might not even be alive. I’m telling you.”
He claimed that virtually everything he does is being deliberately hindered, adding that he believes those in power are determined to make life difficult for him.
“Every single thing I do for a living, this government is frustrating it. Deliberately so. Everything. So, there is even a possibility, if they have the opportunity, I will not be alive,” he said.

Although he insisted he was not making a direct accusation, Obi maintained that the alleged interference is evident in his day-to-day experiences.
“It’s not an accusation. I know. I get frustration every day. Because you do things that you think would be normal—it is not normal anymore. They won’t come directly and say, ‘Oh, we’re doing this,’ but you can see their hand in virtually everything,” he stated.
The former Anambra State governor further alleged that the pressure is not directed at him alone but affects other opposition figures across the country.
“They are attacking everybody who is in opposition personally. I am being attacked personally. Everything. Even to provide me with necessary things that I should have been entitled to, not at all,” he said.
Obi also recalled an incident at an airport where he claimed officials locked his vehicle while other cars parked in the same area were left untouched.
He further alleged that some people now avoid greeting him publicly or inviting him to family events because they fear becoming targets themselves.

As of the time of filing this report, the Federal Government had not responded to Obi’s allegations, and he did not provide evidence during the interview to support his claims.
