UFC Star Leaves in Wheelchair After Hernandez Accuses Rodrigues of Cheating
Anthony Hernandez accused Gregory Rodrigues of cheating after their brutal five-round main event at UFC Sacramento, claiming the Brazilian repeatedly grabbed the inside of his gloves. Rodrigues denied nothing publicly in the immediate aftermath and went on to secure a unanimous decision victory, winning 48-47 on two scorecards and 49-46 on the third.

The fight took a heavy toll on both men. Rodrigues battered Hernandez’s lead leg with calf kicks, dropping him three times in the second round, but Hernandez fought back strongly before Rodrigues regained control in the championship rounds. Despite earning the victory, Rodrigues was later seen wearing a protective boot and being taken from the arena in a wheelchair because of the damage to his leg.

Rodrigues improved his professional record to 20-6 and called for a fight with former UFC champion Dricus du Plessis. Elsewhere, Reinier de Ridder stopped Roman Dolidze in the first round, while MarQuel Mederos knocked out Mason Jones and collected a $100,000 Performance of the Night bonus.

The Sacramento card produced 10 finishes in 13 fights, including seven first-round stoppages.
