My daughters don’t need approval to be lesbians — Charly Boy Speaks Up Again

Veteran entertainer and social commentator Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has said he accepted his two daughters’ decisions to identify as lesbians because his priority is their happiness.

Speaking in an interview with Saturday Beats, Charly Boy said he initially found it difficult to accept the news but eventually chose to support his daughters rather than try to control their lives. He stressed that parents can advise their adult children, but cannot dictate how they live.

The entertainer also said his approach to parenting has changed, particularly with younger generations, noting that parents should guide their children through advice rather than force. He also described his relationship with former President Olusegun Obasanjo as a close friendship in which he sees the former president as both a friend and father figure.
