Helicopter Disaster in Brazil Leaves US Singer Oliver Tree Reportedly Dead at 32
Reports emerging from Brazil have claimed that American singer and internet personality Oliver Tree may have been among those killed in a helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro, though authorities have yet to officially confirm the identities of all victims.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday morning in Rio de Janeiro, where two helicopters collided mid-air before crashing in the city’s western zone. Fire officials said all six people on board both aircraft died in the crash.
According to local emergency responders, one of the helicopters came down in a parking area of a car dealership, setting off a fire that was later brought under control. Several electric vehicles parked at the scene were affected by the blaze.
Brazilian police and aviation authorities are still working to formally identify the victims. Early reports cited by local media suggested that one aircraft carried five passengers while the other had only its pilot.
Media outlets including CNN Brasil reported that Oliver Tree was listed among the passengers, alongside several other individuals, but officials have not completed formal identification procedures.

Oliver Tree, born Oliver Tree Nickell in 1993 in California, rose to fame through viral internet content before transitioning into mainstream music, gaining global attention with his eccentric style and hits such as Life Goes On and Miss You.
Authorities say investigations into the cause of the mid-air collision are ongoing.
