Court Removes Uzodinma from Imo West Senate Race
A Federal High Court in Abuja has ruled against Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma in the dispute over the All Progressives Congress senatorial ticket for Imo West ahead of the 2027 elections.
Justice Obiora Egwuatu directed Uzodinma to stop presenting himself as the APC candidate for the Imo West Senatorial District election scheduled for January 16, 2027.
The judge delivered the ruling on Thursday, October 29, following a challenge to the outcome of the APC senatorial primary election held on May 18.
In his judgment, Justice Egwuatu held that evidence before the court showed former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha secured the majority of lawful votes cast during the primary.
The court consequently directed the APC to submit Okorocha’s name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as its candidate for the Imo West senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.

Justice Egwuatu also ordered INEC to publish Okorocha’s name, marking a major development in the dispute over the APC ticket for the senatorial contest.
