AFCON 2027 Qualifiers: Nigeria, South Africa Pick Up Crucial Wins
Nigeria, South Africa and several other African football powerhouses recorded important results in the latest round of 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Super Eagles edged Madagascar 2–1, while Morocco defeated Gabon 2–0. Egypt were held to a goalless draw by Angola, while Algeria beat Zambia 3–1. Mali and Rwanda also recorded 3–1 victories, while Senegal were held to a 1–1 draw by Mozambique.
South Africa claimed a 2–1 win over Guinea, while Kenya and Eritrea played out a 1–1 draw. Guinea-Bissau also impressed with a 2–0 away victory over Tanzania, as several groups remain tightly contested ahead of the next round of fixtures.
The next matches are scheduled for September 28 and 29, with teams looking to strengthen their positions in the race for AFCON 2027 qualification.
