Florida Mother Admits Sex With Son About 100 Times — Then Police Uncover the Secret

What began as a domestic dispute at a Florida home took an unexpected turn after police say a 22-year-old man revealed a secret involving his own mother.

Christina Clemens, 46, had called authorities during the dispute and accused her son, Shane Clemens, of hitting her, according to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.

Deputies responded to the complaint and arrested Shane over the alleged domestic violence incident. But during the investigation, police say he made an allegation that immediately changed the direction of the case.

Shane allegedly told investigators that he had been having sex with his mother since he turned 18.

The claim prompted detectives to question Christina about what her son had told them.

According to Sheriff Judd, she acknowledged that the sexual relationship had taken place and told investigators it had happened “only about 100 times.”

That admission, authorities said, led detectives deeper into the family’s private life.

Investigators also questioned Christina’s husband, who reportedly said he had been unaware of the alleged relationship.

He told deputies that he considered his marriage happy but admitted that some behaviour between his wife and son had made him suspicious.

According to Judd, the husband recalled seeing Christina and Shane enter the master bedroom together and lock the door.

What investigators had initially approached as a domestic-violence complaint had therefore opened into an alleged relationship that authorities said had continued for years.

Christina was charged with incest and living in open adultery, according to reports. She was subsequently released on bond, with an arraignment scheduled for October 6.

Shane initially faced an incest charge as well as a domestic-violence battery charge. However, the incest charge against him has since been listed as dropped, according to more recent reporting.

The case has attracted attention largely because of the way the alleged relationship came to light. There was no initial police operation aimed at uncovering it; investigators say they encountered the allegation while responding to a family dispute.

For Christina, the domestic call that brought deputies to the home has now become the beginning of a criminal case of a very different nature.

The allegations remain matters for the courts, but one thing is already clear: what police expected to be a routine response to a family argument ultimately exposed a secret that, according to investigators, had remained hidden for years.
