VDEOS: Landlord in Custody After Nursing Student Was Allegedly Killed in Alor
A wave of shock has swept through Uruezeani, Alor in Anambra State, following the death of Miss Chilaka Vivian, a second-year (ND II) nursing student of the College of Nursing Sciences, Alor.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday, June 14, 2026, inside the student’s residence.
According to early accounts, the student had previously complained about persistent unwanted advances from her landlord, Mr. Ogochukwu Ugoeze, which she consistently rejected.
On the day of the incident, it was alleged that a confrontation broke out after the landlord entered the premises.
The situation reportedly escalated into a violent struggle during which the student sustained fatal injuries.

Shortly after, Mr. Ugochukwu Ugoeze allegedly reported himself at a police station, claiming an unknown intruder had broken into his compound and killed his tenant while he was asleep.
However, police investigators say inconsistencies were discovered in his statement during preliminary checks at the scene.
Officers reportedly observed signs of disturbance extending beyond the victim’s room into other parts of the building.
Attention also turned to a guard dog in the compound, described by neighbours as highly alert and quick to react to unusual movement.
Investigators noted that no alarm or disturbance was reported at the time of the incident, raising further questions around the account provided.
Following these findings, the landlord was taken into custody for questioning as detectives intensified their investigation.
