Eze Ego Osondu Igwilo extradited to US over alleged $100m fraud case

Osondu Victor Igwilo, popularly known as “Eze Ego” or “King of the Boys,” has been extradited from Nigeria to the United States to face charges linked to an alleged $100 million fraud scheme.

He was reportedly transferred from the Kuje Custodial Centre in Abuja on Monday following extradition proceedings coordinated by authorities.

The suspect was earlier arrested in 2022 by Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of fraud, money laundering, and identity theft tied to an international scam network.

US authorities allege that the operation involved advance-fee fraud schemes, targeting victims across multiple countries through fake investment offers and online deception tactics.

He is expected to face prosecution in the United States on charges including wire fraud, money laundering, and aggravated identity theft as proceedings
