Tanzania fought back fiercely after the break, with star substitute Hasnath Ubamba firing home a well-deserved equalizer to restore momentum in the 55th minute.

However, the tireless Burkinabe attack continued to press forward until Sawadogo turned from provider to goalscorer, netting a sensational decisive goal to seal the historic points.

This crucial outcome leaves both nations tied on three points heading into a highly anticipated, high-stakes final round of group stage fixtures.

The wide-open nature of the pool means multiple teams still control their own destiny in the pursuit of a quarter-final ticket.
