VeryDarkMan Threatens Legal Action Against MTN Over Dangote IPO Advert
Social commentator VeryDarkMan has threatened to sue MTN Nigeria after receiving Dangote Refinery IPO promotional messages on a phone number he said was linked to his National Identification Number.
In a video shared online, VeryDarkMan questioned how his private number was obtained and allegedly used for a third-party commercial campaign without his consent. He said his lawyers would contact MTN and demanded an explanation over the use of his personal information.
The controversy comes shortly after Dangote Refinery launched its N2.15 trillion public share offer, which VeryDarkMan also criticised, describing it as resembling a Ponzi scheme and questioning why Nigerians should invest in the refinery instead of benefiting from lower prices of essential commodities.
