Veryblackman Arrested Over Alleged Threat Against Comedian DeeOne

The Rivers State Police Command has arrested social media personality Veryblackman over an alleged threat against the life of reality television personality and comedian, DeeOne.

Veryblackman, identified in reports as a member of the Strong Ratel group and a relative of controversial social media figure VeryDarkMan, was reportedly taken into custody on Saturday following a police invitation.

He was subsequently transported to Lagos on Sunday, according to reports surrounding the incident.

The development followed an earlier controversy involving the two personalities after Veryblackman allegedly issued a death threat against DeeOne in June.

The alleged threat reportedly followed DeeOne’s criticism of VeryDarkMan, triggering reactions across social media and calls from some Nigerians for police intervention.

Reacting to his arrest, DeeOne took to Instagram to acknowledge the development and praised the police for acting on the matter.

“Arrested and swift to Lagos! Next time you won’t threaten someone’s life. Kudos to the Nigerian Police for doing their job,” he wrote.

The controversy had attracted the attention of several entertainers and social media users, including Mario Wazobia and Broda Mike, who reportedly called for action over the alleged threat.

According to reports, Veryblackman’s arrest came after he allegedly failed to honour an invitation from the police.

The latest development has renewed attention on the growing disputes and threats that frequently emerge from confrontations among Nigerian social media personalities.

The police have yet to publicly disclose further details about the investigation or indicate what charges, if any, may be filed against Veryblackman.
