I Want this Fourth Win Badly – Tomyamkoong Confident Ahead of The Inner Circle 18 Clash
Thai rising star Tomyamkoong Bhumjaithai says he is fully focused on extending his winning streak when he faces Azerbaijan’s Anar Mammadov in the main event of The Inner Circle 18 on June 12 in Bangkok.
The 22-year-old enters the bout on a three-fight winning run, including two stoppage victories, and believes he is closing in on a ONE Championship contract.
“I want this fourth win badly because the ultimate goal is to secure that main ONE Championship roster contract. I’m on a great run right now, and I want to ride this momentum all the way to the global stage”
“After this, I’m completely focused on making waves in the flyweight division. This weight class is stacked with absolute killers, which is a massive challenge, but it’s one I have to pass.”
Tomyamkoong says his recent turnaround has been driven by improvements in his defense, which have boosted his confidence and consistency inside the ring.
“The main turning point for me was just putting in the work and fixing my defense. I locked down my guard and stopped taking unnecessary damage.
“Once my defense clicked, it gave me the ultimate confidence to just go out there and execute.”
The Thai fighter also believes moving up in the flyweight division has helped unlock better performances and stronger striking.
“Riding a three-fight win streak has given me a massive confidence boost, especially with how my striking is flowing. It’s getting better with every fight.
“My last fight was my first real test at flyweight, and I can feel my body fully adjusting to the weight now. I feel a lot stronger and my strikes have way more pop to them.”
Looking ahead to Mammadov, Tomyamkoong acknowledged the danger in his opponent’s striking but believes pressure will be key.
“Looking at Anar, his hands are his biggest weapon. He throws heavy, fast punches, especially in the opening round when he’s still fresh.
“I definitely need to respect his power early on.”
However, he is confident weaknesses can be exploited if the fight becomes a high-pressure exchange.
“In his last fight against Yodlekpet, he got dropped for a count and that completely threw off his rhythm.
“I noticed that when you push him hard and make it a dogfight, he starts to fade significantly, and his guard gets loose. If he leaves any openings like that against me, I’m going to make him pay.”
Tomyamkoong says he is prepared to bring the fight to Mammadov from the opening bell and is confident in another finish.
“I’m very confident in my power right now. I know I have the tools to put Anar away. If I catch him cleanly, he’s going to sleep just like the others.”
