Israel Adesanya Gives Ilia Topuria Advice After Gaethje Defeat
Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has advised Ilia Topuria against rushing into an immediate rematch with Justin Gaethje following his recent defeat.
Topuria suffered a damaging loss to Gaethje at the UFC White House after being stopped before the start of the fifth round. The former two-division champion has since been cleared to compete and is reportedly considering an immediate rematch.
Adesanya, who experienced a similar situation after losing to Alex Pereira before winning the rematch, believes Topuria should return to competition first and secure another victory before pursuing another title opportunity.
The Nigerian-New Zealander also backed Arman Tsarukyan as the next challenger for Gaethje, pointing to Tsarukyan’s recent knockout victory over Mauricio Ruffy and his strong run of form.
