Enugu Air Sets September 23 Take-Off for Douala Route

Enugu Air is set to open a new air link between Nigeria and Cameroon as the airline begins scheduled flights from Enugu to Douala on September 23, 2026.

The new international service will connect Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, with Douala International Airport in Cameroon, giving travellers another direct option between the two countries.

Enugu Air’s Chief Operating Officer, Ugonna Agubuokwu, said the new route was part of the airline’s effort to improve regional connectivity and make travel between Nigeria and Cameroon easier.

Agubuokwu said the service would help connect businesses, families and other travellers while creating more opportunities for movement across the region.

“This is more than the introduction of a new route; it is about creating stronger connections between Nigeria and Cameroon and making regional travel more accessible, convenient, and seamless for our passengers,” he said.

The airline will operate the Enugu-Douala service twice a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays.

According to the airline, flights will leave Enugu at 12:45 p.m. and arrive in Douala at 1:45 p.m. The return flight will depart Douala at 2:30 p.m. and arrive in Enugu at 3:30 p.m.

Passengers travelling from Lagos and Abuja will also be able to connect to the Douala flights through Enugu.

The development adds another player to the Nigeria-Cameroon air route. Air Peace has previously been the only airline providing a direct connection between the two countries.

United Nigeria Airlines has also announced plans to expand into the Central African market, with Douala and Libreville listed among its proposed destinations.

With Enugu Air’s entry, passengers travelling between Nigeria and Cameroon will have another option as regional airlines continue to expand their international operations.
