Joe Ward Returns to the Ring to Face Undefeated Top Contender in Dublin
Irish boxer Joe Ward is set to make his long-awaited return to professional boxing this Saturday, August 8, when he faces unbeaten Artjom “The Tank” Kasparian at Dublin’s 3Arena in a bout that will be broadcast live on Sky Sports and Sky One.

The 32-year-old light heavyweight has not fought since October 2024 after a series of scheduled contests fell through. Despite the lengthy layoff, Ward has chosen a difficult comeback opponent in Kasparian, who boasts a perfect 14-0 professional record with 12 knockout victories. Ward said he never considered taking an easier fight, insisting he believes he can beat anyone when at his best.
The contest is part of the first Irish event promoted by Zuffa Boxing, the company co-founded by UFC CEO Dana White. Ward enters the fight with a professional record of 12 wins and one defeat, the lone loss coming after a freak knee injury in his debut in 2019.

A former three-time European champion and World Championship medalist, Ward says he still has plenty to offer and is eager to prove he belongs among the world’s top fighters after an impressive training camp.
