‘Sex Toy Is Not a Sin in Marriage’ — Apostle Sparks Debate [VIDEO]
Apostle Joshua Aghasedo of Powerline Church has sparked discussion after declaring that the use of sex toys by married couples should not be regarded as sinful.
In a video from his church service, the clergyman explained his position while addressing members of his congregation, arguing that modern technology has provided tools that can assist couples within marriage.
Aghasedo compared sex toys with everyday items such as cars and mobile phones, which people use to make certain tasks easier.
“Is using a sex toy a sin? Is driving a car a sin? Using the phone, is it a sin?” he asked.
He argued that technological advancement has introduced various forms of equipment that can assist people, saying the same principle could apply to married couples.
“In this modern day of technology, it’s an equipment. It can help you do the job to 90%, and you finish the remaining 10%,” he said.
The apostle stressed that his comments were specifically about married couples and should not be interpreted outside the marital context.
According to him, he had previously suggested the use of such an aid to a married couple after considering their circumstances.
“I have suggested sex toy to a couple before when I look at all the surrounding circumstances, so that somebody won’t go out and other things would follow,” he said.
Aghasedo said his position was based on his understanding of marriage and religious teachings, while distinguishing between its use within marriage and outside it.
