“Prove Me Wrong, I’ll Go to Prison” — VeryDarkMan Challenges Lagos Police AIG Over Murder Case
Social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has accused Assistant Inspector General of Police, Moshood Jimoh, of corruption and alleged that an innocent man was framed in connection with a 2023 murder case.

In a video shared on Instagram, VDM claimed the police mishandled the investigation involving Ahmed Tajudeen Akanbi and described the senior police officer as a threat to Nigeria’s justice system.
VDM alleged that two suspects arrested over the killing of Sherif Salami and Prince Ademola Akinloye never mentioned Akanbi in their recorded confessions. He challenged AIG Jimoh and the Lagos Police Command to release the suspects’ original written statements, insisting they would support his claims.
“If you can present those statements, I should be sent to prison and made to face the full weight of the law for defaming you,” VDM declared.

He also called for a review of cases handled while Jimoh served as Lagos State Commissioner of Police, arguing that the justice system must investigate any possible wrongful prosecutions.
