Most Shocking Is Your Insult – Reno Omokri Fires Back After Davido’s ‘Bingo’ Jab
A social media clash between singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and former presidential aide Reno Omokri has escalated after the musician publicly mocked the diplomat-designate in a viral online post.

The exchange began after Reno suggested that his delayed resumption as Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to Mexico was partly due to commitments surrounding the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
Davido reacted sharply to the remark, taking to social media to describe Reno as “Bingo” in a post that quickly gained traction online.
Responding on Tuesday, Reno shared screenshots of the singer’s comments and expressed disappointment at what he described as an unexpected personal attack.
“Thank you for your feedback,” Reno wrote. “I was surprised by your reaction, but even more shocked by the insult.”
The former presidential aide argued that Davido’s response may have been triggered by criticism he recently made regarding the singer’s appearance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Reno had faulted Davido for wearing a customized jacket bearing the names of abducted schoolchildren from Oyo State during a World Cup-related appearance, insisting that such a global stage should be used to project a positive image of Nigeria rather than draw attention to insecurity.
According to him, while Davido’s intentions may have been noble, the move risked amplifying fear and inadvertently giving criminal groups the publicity they seek.
He also noted that popular American content creator IShowSpeed used the same international platform to celebrate Nigeria by wearing the country’s jersey and speaking positively about the nation.
Reno further stated that Davido, as one of Nigeria’s most recognizable global stars, should avoid engaging critics with insults, arguing that public figures carry a responsibility to maintain civility even during disagreements.
The latest exchange has since sparked debate across social media, with supporters of both men weighing in on whether international platforms should be used to spotlight Nigeria’s security challenges or to promote the country’s positive image abroad.
