McGregor Targets Canelo, Vows to Break Sales Records in Final UFC Fight
Conor McGregor has taken aim at boxing star Canelo Alvarez’s commercial numbers, insisting that he can generate bigger figures than other combat sports stars as he prepares for what he describes as the final fight of his UFC contract.

Following Canelo’s unanimous decision victory over Christian Mbilli in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, McGregor questioned the event’s viewership, attendance and gate receipts. In a post on X, the former two-division UFC champion boasted that he could outperform his rivals in fight sales, even claiming he could surpass their combined figures. He also promised to make a greater promotional effort for his next appearance.

McGregor, who holds a professional MMA record of 22-7, says he intends to make his final contracted UFC fight a record-breaking spectacle. His last outing came in July against Max Holloway, ending in disappointment after he injured his knee while throwing his opening kick and lost by technical knockout after 69 seconds. He has now turned his attention to making his next return a major commercial event.
