Edgar Berlanga Arrested in Florida Over Battery Charges
Zuffa Boxing fighter Edgar Berlanga was arrested in Florida on October 26 and charged with two battery-related offences. The 29-year-old super middleweight faces a first-degree misdemeanor battery charge and a second-degree felony aggravated battery charge over an incident reported to have occurred on October 18.
Berlanga appeared before a judge at Bartow Courthouse on Tuesday, where his combined bail was reportedly set at $16,000. His arraignment is scheduled for November 17, when he will be formally advised of the charges and given an opportunity to enter a plea. Details of the incident have not been made public, and Berlanga has not issued a statement.

The Puerto Rican boxer signed a multi-fight deal with Zuffa Boxing earlier this year after previously competing under Matchroom Boxing. He made his promotional debut in July, defeating Steven Butler by seventh-round technical knockout. Berlanga holds a professional record of 24 wins, two defeats and 19 knockouts. Zuffa Boxing has yet to announce his next fight.
