Plateau Cleric Takes Christian Persecution Campaign to Israel, Seeks Netanyahu’s Attention
Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations, COCIN, in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, has taken his campaign over alleged attacks on Christians in Nigeria to Israel.

Dachomo arrived in Israel on Friday, October 2, 2026, where he is expected to raise concerns about insecurity, terrorism and what he describes as the persecution of Christians in Plateau State and other parts of the Middle Belt.
According to a schedule shared on his social media platforms, the cleric plans to seek an audience with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and meet Christian prayer groups from different countries as part of what he described as his first international Christian advocacy tour.
He said the trip was intended to draw international attention to the security challenges confronting communities in Plateau State and Nigeria, while also appealing to world leaders to take greater interest in the situation.
Dachomo said he was encouraged by comments from United States President Donald Trump concerning killings in Nigeria and considered his visit to Israel an opportunity to present the concerns of affected Nigerian communities before international Christian leaders.
“By the mercy of God, I will be addressing the world in Israel,” Dachomo said, adding that he intended to speak about the plight of Nigerians affected by violence, including Christians and Muslims.
The cleric also said he planned to raise the case of his community, alleging that Fulani attackers had invaded his village and killed three people within his jurisdiction.
He further expressed his desire to speak directly with Netanyahu about what he described as the suffering of Christians in Nigeria, while criticising the Nigerian government for what he considers insufficient attention to attacks on Christian communities.
Dachomo also linked his advocacy to broader political and religious concerns in Nigeria, including the debate over Sharia and the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu.
The cleric said prayer would remain central to his international campaign, with prayer warriors from countries including the United States, Canada, France and Spain expected to participate in gatherings during his visit.
He called for prayers for Nigeria and its people, including victims of violence across different states, and said he would also pray for the perpetrators of attacks.
Dachomo’s claims about Christian persecution and genocide form part of a wider and contested debate over the nature, scale and religious dimensions of violence in Nigeria.
The country has experienced attacks by terrorist groups, armed bandits, communal violence and other forms of insecurity affecting communities of different faiths and regions.

His visit to Israel therefore places his advocacy within an international effort to draw attention to Nigeria’s security crisis and the experiences of communities affected by violence.
