Jerry Eze Takes Prayer to Manchester United’s Old Trafford, Draws Thousands
Manchester United’s famous Old Trafford stadium took on a different atmosphere on Saturday as thousands of worshippers gathered for the NSPPD UK Prayer Conference led by Nigerian pastor, Jerry Eze.
The gathering, organised by Streams of Joy International, attracted Christians from different parts of the United Kingdom and other countries who came together for prayers, worship and fellowship.
The 74,000-capacity stadium, usually associated with football and the famous Manchester United crowd, became a meeting place for worshippers as Eze led the congregation through the prayer sessions.
Although the conference was free to attend, participants were required to register beforehand because of the limited spaces available.
Interest in the programme reportedly exceeded the available capacity, with registration closing before the event. Some prospective attendees later took to social media platforms, including TikTok, in search of spare tickets.
The prayer gathering also featured several Nigerian gospel music ministers who led worship during the programme.
Among those who performed were Mercy Chinwo, Dunsin Oyekan, Sunmisola Agbebi and Kaestrings, whose ministrations added music and praise to the event.
Images and videos from the gathering showed large numbers of worshippers inside the iconic stadium, highlighting the scale of the conference.
For the attendees, the significance of the day was centred on prayer and worship, turning a venue best known for football into a setting for a major Christian gathering.
The NSPPD UK Prayer Conference is organised as part of the international activities of Streams of Joy International and has continued to attract worshippers beyond Nigeria.
