Davido Tells Rising Artistes What Success Must Never Cost
For many young musicians, breaking into the spotlight is the ultimate dream. But Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, believes there is one thing no amount of success should ever take away, faith in God.

Speaking during a recent interview with Kiss Xtra, the award-winning singer advised aspiring artistes to remain committed to God even after achieving fame.
He said the entertainment industry is filled with temptations and distractions that can make people forget the source of their success, urging them to stay grounded as their careers grow.
“My advice for up-and-coming artistes is first of all, believe in yourself. I worked on my craft so much. I loved music so much that I just wanted to get better every time. When I was young, I was learning from YouTube and the people around me,” Davido said.
He added, “Secondly, love what you do and put God first and close, especially when you make it because there are so many distractions that can make you forget He is the reason you are here.”
Davido’s remarks come amid ongoing conversations about the pressures that accompany celebrity life, with several entertainers over the years admitting that fame affected their spiritual lives.

His message serves as a reminder that while talent and hard work may open doors, staying true to one’s values is just as important after success arrives.
