Yobe approves new salary structure for top civil servants
The Yobe State Government has approved a new salary structure for the Head of Service, permanent secretaries, auditors-general and the Accountant-General.
The approval was disclosed in a statement issued by the Office of the Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa Shehu.
Under the new structure, the Head of Service will earn 1,430,830.75 naira monthly, while each permanent secretary will receive 1,203,851.55 naira.
The state Auditor-General, Auditor-General for Local Governments and Accountant-General will each earn 1,114,666.36 naira per month, according to the statement.
Shehu expressed appreciation to Governor Mai Mala Buni for his understanding of the needs of civil servants and commitment to their welfare.
He urged the beneficiaries and other civil servants to reciprocate the gesture through greater dedication, commitment and improved service delivery.
The Head of Service added that the state government had introduced various welfare packages for civil servants, with further initiatives underway to improve their well-being and strengthen the public service.
