VDM Leads Police to Alleged Baby Factory During Early-Morning Raid in Abuja
Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, led officers of the Nigeria Police Force’s Special Tactical Squad to an alleged baby factory in Karshi, Abuja, during an early-morning operation.
VDM documented the raid in videos shared on his social media platforms, showing the operation carried out alongside police officers.
According to him, the team left for the location at about 4 a.m. and arrived shortly after 5 a.m. The operation followed allegations surrounding the facility and claims that a child had been sold.
The team reportedly arrived at the facility while a woman was in labour.
“We met an ongoing baby delivery process,” VDM said in one of the videos.
A young girl, identified as the daughter of the midwife, was seen wearing medical gloves during the operation.
A young boy at the facility also reportedly told the team that his mother was attending to a patient in labour.
A 21-year-old pregnant woman was also found inside the building and reportedly told the team that she was married.
The midwife, who said she was from Enugu State, denied operating a baby factory. She admitted knowing a woman who had previously accused the facility of such activities but insisted that the woman had been her patient.
“She was my patient. I gave her back her baby and she left with the child,” the midwife said in the video.
However, the woman who made the allegations disputed the account. She claimed that the midwife was not the person who paid her and identified another woman, known only as Kemi, as the person who allegedly handled the payments.
She further alleged that she was forced into labour and injected six times before delivery, claiming that the midwife’s son also administered some of the injections.
The son was reportedly identified as a student of the School of Nursing at Lincoln University, Nasarawa State. The allegations raised questions about whether he was licensed to administer medical treatment.
During the operation, VDM also drew attention to what he described as poor sanitary conditions and improperly stored medical drugs inside the facility.
The raid followed allegations surrounding the facility and a child reportedly sold from the location.
However, the Nigeria Police Force had not issued an official statement confirming the allegations or disclosing the outcome of the operation as of the time of filing this report.
