Still on this day in 1984, aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger, astronaut Kathryn D. Sullivan becomes the first American woman to perform a space walk.

Born and raised in New York City, she is known for her energetic rap flow and outspoken lyrics. Since launching her music career in 2016 and releasing her two mixtapes, Cardi B has been credited for elevating the relevance of female rappers in popular music.

Today is also the birthday of Demi Bennett (born 11 October 1996). She is an Australian professional wrestler. As of July 2017, she is signed to WWE, where she performs on the SmackDown brand under the ring name Rhea Ripley. She is a former two-time Women’s World Champion and a two-time WWE Women’s Champion. Ripley’s first reign as Women’s World Champion is tied with Bayley as the longest in the title’s history at 380 days.

Today is equally the birthday of Trevor Mann (born October 11, 1988), known by his ring name Ricochet. He is an American professional wrestler. As of August 2024, he is signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he is the leader of The Demand.
