Tinubu Meets Adeleke at Aso Rock Days After Osun Election
President Bola Tinubu has received Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, marking their first reported face-to-face meeting since Adeleke secured a second term in the state’s August 15 governorship election.
Adeleke, who contested under the Accord Party, defeated APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, winning 19 of Osun’s 30 local government areas. Despite belonging to a different political platform, the governor has publicly declared his support for Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, citing the President’s Yoruba identity and ongoing federal projects.
However, Adeleke stressed that his support does not mean he has reached a political agreement with Tinubu or plans to return to the APC. He urged the President to extend more federal infrastructure projects, particularly road rehabilitation, to Osun State, while pledging to work with political actors who genuinely support the President’s development agenda.
