Russia-Ukraine War Escalates as Moscow Accuses Kyiv of Striking Oil Refineries
Russia has accused Ukraine of attacking its oil refineries in the Ryazan region, about 180 kilometres south of Moscow, as hostilities between both countries continue to intensify.

The accusation comes after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Kyiv would target Russian industrial facilities in retaliation for Moscow’s continued attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure.
In an interview with the Financial Times, Zelensky expressed frustration over Russia’s repeated strikes, stressing that Ukraine would respond by attacking Russian plants and industries.
Meanwhile, Russian forces have continued targeting Ukrainian power plants, triggering major electricity outages and putting additional pressure on the country’s already strained energy infrastructure.
Ryazan Governor Pavel Malkov said no injuries were reported following the incident. However, the report did not provide further details about the extent of the damage to the affected facilities.
The latest development highlights the continued escalation of the Russia-Ukraine war, with energy infrastructure remaining a key target as both countries intensify attacks on strategic facilities.
