Portugal’s New Coach Wants Cristiano Ronaldo to Continue With National Team
Portugal’s new head coach, Jorge Jesus, has said Cristiano Ronaldo will remain part of the national team as long as he is fit, available, and willing to play.

Although the 41-year-old recently confirmed that the 2026 FIFA World Cup was his last, he has not announced his retirement from international football.
Speaking during his official unveiling, Jesus described Ronaldo as a legend of Portuguese football and said he would always be welcome in the squad.

The former Al-Nassr coach revealed that he has not yet spoken to Ronaldo about his international future but plans to hold discussions with the five-time Ballon d’Or winner soon.
Jesus, who worked with Ronaldo at Al-Nassr before leaving the club earlier this year, said the veteran forward had always expressed his desire to finish his playing career with the Saudi Arabian club.

The 71-year-old coach has signed a contract to lead Portugal through the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by Portugal, Spain and Morocco.
